Session 1: Overview
Comparative overview of traditional, construction management and design-build project methodology with focus on design-build (DB).
Session 2: Procurement and Award
Preparation of SOR, preparation of RFQ and RFP documents. Evaluation of proposals, award process and honouraria.
Session 3: Design-Builder’s Response to RFQs & RFPs
Teaming strategies, analyzing RFQs & RFPs, interpreting the Owner’s SOR, developing and estimating proposal designs and selling the project.
Session 4: Contractual Risks
Review of common contract conditions, risk analysis, design performance, physical, financial and time risks, other legal considerations.
Session 5: Project Delivery
Schedule, completing design documents, permits and approvals, owner’s & design-builder’s responsibilities, complying with SOR and contents of proposal, budget, payment certifier, role of owner’s advisor and fast-track options.
